CLOSE READING AND FEEDBACK

How it works

Pricing

Close reading means I’ll carefully read what you’ve written, paying special attention to your words, ideas, flow, structure, and purpose. I’ll make notes on your manuscript and write a detailed feedback letter describing what worked well, and where I see opportunities for revision.

I’ll look beyond basic proofreading and coach you to achieve success in your writing, whether it’s a one-paragraph email or a fifty-page short story.

(Don’t worry, I can help you with spelling and grammar, too.)

  1. Finish a draft of your manuscript. It doesn’t have to be perfect. You wouldn’t need me if it was.

  2. Click the “let’s get started” link below and fill out the form. You’ll be asked to upload a copy of your manuscript there.

  3. Once I receive your payment and manuscript, I’ll spend some time reading and responding to your work. Typically this takes about a week.

  4. I’ll email you an annotated copy of your document (which just means I’ll make some notes on it) and a letter responding to your work. In this letter, you can expect detailed comments. I’ll tell you what I think is most successful about your piece and make suggestions about how to improve your writing.

  5. OPTIONAL You may opt to schedule an appointment with me to discuss the notes. In that meeting, you can ask follow-up questions or we can work together on how to move forward.
